Just wrapped an incredible recording session with the brilliant Matthew Shad and Bob St. John, and I’m still trying to find the words to describe what these two extraordinary artists bring to a song.
There’s something deeply humbling about hearing your own words and ideas transformed into something far more expansive than you imagined. Matthew and Bob have helped give this song a radiant life of its own, and I feel incredibly fortunate to collaborate with artists—and men—of such talent, generosity, and heart.
Brilliant by Design is, without question, our best production to date. I’m incredibly proud of it, and I genuinely cannot wait for you to hear it.
I don’t want to give too much away just yet. The lyrics are deeply personal, written during a time when my father and I were entering a chapter of life none of us had anticipated. It was a moment when familiar ground disappeared, our worlds were turned upside down, and we were learning to navigate new realities that were anything but “the norm.”
Sometimes, the most difficult chapters give us the clearest perspective—and the deepest songs.
This one means a lot to me.
